KKCK’s Sunday Night Shag Playlist for 10/3/2010

On Lonely Avenue, Ben Folds focuses on the music and lets High Fidelity author Nick Hornby handle writing the lyrics.  Quite a few of the songs sound like Folds wrote them himself, which means Nick and Ben are more alike that we ever thought (that and Folds delivers the lyrics like he spent months on them).  Does it work?  Some of the time it works great, while other times the songs come off like old BFF album filler.  Overall, it might be more for Folds fans only.  Hopefully you caught the show to judge for yourself.

If you didn’t, here’s what went down.

Dandy Warhols “We Used to Be Friends”
Ben Folds & Nick Hornby “From Above”
Cake “Sick of You”
Linkin Park “Waiting for the End”

Stone Sour “Say You’ll Haunt Me”
Marina & the Diamonds “Shampain”
Dirty Heads “Stand Tall”
Mumiy Troll “Polar Bear”
Ben Folds & Nick Hornby “Saskia Hamilton”
